"This week, Apple announced a free software upgrade for all Mac owners who
have a computer made in 2007 or newer and is running the operating system Snow
Leopard (or newer). The new operating system is named Mavericks, and is
available immediately for download from the Mac App Store.
What's great about this is that with Mavericks, Apple's iBookstore is now available for Mac desktop and laptop owners, and not just for folks using iPhones and iPads. This means you can now purchase any ebook from Apple's iBookstore and read it on any of Apple's devices OR laptops and desktops. In fact, you can start reading a book on your laptop, head out to do errands, and pick up on your iPhone or iPad exactly where you left off at home. It's as easy as reading a PDF. Plus, on the Mac, you can even have multiple books open at one time...something that "A" retailer doesn't offer! Add on terrific abilities to add notes to your books, do markups, etc. and the new iBooks for Mac is a fantastic application."
