She had dark straight black hair, the
bangs and sides
cut to make her look like some ancient
Egyptian monarch.
She was tall, about six feet without
heels, sported broad
shoulders, a slender waist and sleek
calves and thighs. Her
face featured high cheekbones, a
graciously sloped nose, a
rich full mouth and sharply defined
eyebrows.
“You look tired, Mike,” she said without
empathy,
studying the menu again, probably as a
means to avoid
looking at me. “You’ve been working too
hard again I see.
Why do you do that? Does it really help?
Aren't you
destined for partnership? As far as
legal ability is
concerned, nobody can touch you. At
least, that's what I
hear.”
My eyes gravitated toward her lips,
which reminded
me of the half dozen or so times we had
kissed. Despite her
sometimes rather cold exterior, Madison
could kiss with
passion and power. We had not yet had
sex. Madison was
of the firm view that sex was the world’s
most powerful
stimulant, and that it took a minimum of
two years to work
off the effects. “Two years is a long
time,” she had
explained to me once.
