I've just signed up with Solstice Publishing, a long-time industry leader in online publishing, for a new novel. The working title is Fatal Innocence, and it's all you'll want in modern legal suspense and quirky romance without all the nonsense. Stay tuned, but here's a taste of what's coming soon.
Mike Talbert is tasked by his boss Casey Brook with devising
a scheme to deep-six an incriminating draft email from the personal computer of
a prominent politician with presidential ambitions without risking charges of
evidence tampering or obstruction of justice.
Never one to let ethics or the law get in the way of his ambitions, Mike
comes up with a plan to enlist professional thieves to steal the computer
without advising his client in advance so as to make the theft look as
authentic as possible. The plan works
better than Mike or his boss could have expected, but complications arise when
the women in their lives turn on them in unexpected ways.
The author is a retired partner in an international law firm
and understands the complexities and nuances of life in a large law firm. Unlike most legal thrillers, which require a
suspension of disbelief the size of the Grand Canyon, Fatal Innocence
puts you in the shoes of a real lawyer tackling real-life problems in a unique
and exciting way.
